III. Dress Code

All activities, conduct, and apparel should promote and reflect an atmosphere
conducive to a spiritual environment. In an effort to set up this environment,
the following guidelines will be enforced:

Upon arrival through the gate and until departure, all dress should be modest
and not sexually suggestive. Since individuals will differ as to what may be considered
modest, we, the elders of Sheffield, have agreed that our camp will abide by the following standards:

-All clothing (pants, jeans, skirts, walking shorts, or dresses) will cover the knee while
standing up or sitting down.
[Editor's note: This means NO REGULAR SHORTS like you wear at home - VERY important as this is strictly enforced by camp staff. Your best bet is to plan on being in full length jeans during the day. Young children prior to dormitory-age are o.k.'d to wear shorts and short-sets.]

-All attire shall be hemmed. No cut-offs

-See-thru styles, revealing fashions such as slit skirts, bare midriffs, bare shoulders, backless fashions, spandex (i.e. tight fitting clothing, body suits, bicycle shorts), cutoffs or other clothing which is torn or cut out, muscle shirts, tank tops, halter tops, mini skirts shall not be worn.

Your dorm couselor's opinion is final.

After 6:00 PM you should dress as follows:
Men: Long pants and clean shirt appropriate for services.
Ladies: Dresses, dress pants, or nice jeans with a dressy blouse may be worn.

Old faded jeans are not considered appropriate attire for evening services for either men or
women.

Editor's note - these preceeding paragraphs appear very closely to what has been the
rules and guidelines of the Pecos River Encampment for many, many years.
[Only grammatical changes have been made for the purpose of clarity.
These guidelines are intended to facilitate a worshipful, happy atmosphere that promotes
fellowship and safety among the campers, from the oldest to the very youngest. --J. Owens]
